Checking for preouts for sub + amp
Where would I go to find out if my stereo in my 2002 Grand Am SE1 has preouts for subs or not without taking out my stereo.

Re: Checking for preouts for sub + amp
the deck doesn't have them. if you want to keep your old deck and put in a amp you will need to make sure you amp can accept high-level inputs and then get a high-level wiring kit. this is a very simple procedure. all you do is tap in to the positive and negitive wires on your rear speakers and run them to the amp with the supplied wiring and connectors.

Re: Checking for preouts for sub + amp
most amps come with one. but you need to make sure that the amp has the inputs. what kind of amp is it? if it has the inputs, but doesn't have the wiring harness, go to any car audio store and they can get you one.

It's a kenwood 600watt amp. I do have speaker level inputs on the amp.
So just run off the wires from the rear speakers to the speaker input slots? How much should I look for when buying a high-level wiring kit? |
