CAI instructions NEEDED.

I have a 2000 Dodge Neon SOHC and I need instructions on installing a Cold Air Intake. I already had the air filter box removed last year when I replaced my stock filter with a K&N filter. I know that installing a CAI requires you to remove the filter box, but I want to make sure I install it correctly. Anyone knows any website or links or knows how to install a CAI let me know... By the way this CAI is similar to an AEM CAI but it did not come with instructions.. good ol' E-Bay.

The installation is pretty straightforward. You said your airbox is removed? Or you had removed it before? (Before you do anything, disconnect the positive terminal on your battery). Basically everything after the throttle body goes bye bye, there's 4 bolts holding the box to the TB. Once you get those off it should 'pop' out of the fender there. If you haven't done so already, take off the resonator inside your front fender well first. I believe there are a few screws holding it in, you'd have to probably jack the car up to reach em. Then that whole black box comes down and out. I dunno what your intake looks like, but there should be a short piece that goes between your throttle body and intake manifold, it replaces the rubber ribbed hose there. Then put the big part of the intake in place, secure all the clamps. Then jack the side of the car up, lay on your back and put the air filter on. Or you can put it on first and put the pipe up through the fender from the bottom, whatever's easier. After that, it's pretty self explanatory.

*MAKE SURE to take out the air temperature sensor before ripping anything out, it's connected to your airbox and should pop out of its rubber grommet. There should be a hole on your new intake where you can insert it.

*ALSO, there should be a vacuum hose that connects to your intake and runs to the back of your engine block. If there is no hose or no hole for it, make sure you put one of those little breather filters where the original hose connects to the engine block.

I think I got everything....It's been about a year since I did it *shrugs* Have fun!!

Thanks. I installed it and it was pretty easy, took me about 45 min - 1 hr, the only thing now is that the Air temp sensor does not fit snugged into the intake. I was thinking of using silicone but I dont want to make it look messy. In the mean time I cut out a piece of rubber from vacuum hose breather and plugged it in the hole and stuck the sensor in there, the intake looks great now and I defenitively feel and hear the difference.

It does when you're being bothered in the middle of the install... normally should have take me 30min.

Or if you don't know the first thing about cars when you get your intake, and it takes 2 hours.

My intake was already modified with a K&N filter. I had to take that one apart and install the CAI. I was in no rush. Im not trying to install a CAI in record time. I was drinking my beer listening to music and I had my girl bothering over some crap. Y2KNerd STFU. What do you know? You're like my left nut that hangs too low. Just gotta learn to ignore it.

uh....what? I was talking about MYSELF. The Iceman was my first mod ever, it took me the whole afternoon to get mine installed, and I didn't know shit about it.

Is this why I got nasty responses to some of my old posts? I wasn't being unintentionally mean, I spent half a freakin hour just trying to remember my install to try to help you.
