Killing a Supra 101
Hey whats up. I had a sweet race with a moded supra the other night and i was just wondering how fast a mildly moded turbo Supra is.. i own a 99 Cobra moded and i run 12.9... this guy said he was having traction problems, but i think its bull cause his tires didn't spin and i could tell cause his engine didn't rev up like they were spinning... i think what his problem was was turbo lag cause by the time his turbo would spool up i was gone.. We raced like 5 times and i would let him get the start and let his turbo spool but even at its best i would still murder him real bad.. i'm just wondering if its a tuning issue or are supras just not fast without a ton of cash invested? It was still cool, i've always liked supras and the way they look..

Re: Killing a Supra 101
The year is very important here, which is it? Lag isn't as bad as everyone says it is, unless you have a very mismatched turbo and engine.

Re: Killing a Supra 101
Assuming you are talking about the latest gen, the mark 4 (93-98), The Stock TT runs around a mid 13 quarter mile time stock. With Basic Performance Upgrades they can easily break 12's. It is pretty easy to get them to big numbers, even on stock internals. Must have been quite a race. Good kill!
