Brake light, airbag light stay on, turn signals won't work intermittent
My '98 3.8l windstar(78K) is having an intermittent problem. The instrument panel 'brake light' and 'airbag light' stay on and the 'turn signal lights' (instrument panel) and the outside turn signals don't work. Started yesterday. Took the kids to swim practice and it was fine. After practice, started car and they are lit again. Pulled around the parking lot, parked, turned off car. Waited 30 sec and then started again and everything looks fine. If it was a fuse, wouldn't it be a constant problem? Low brake fluid? Battery? Nothing makes sense. Any suggestions? I'm stumped.

Ignition switch problem.
Please have it looked at soon, Ford had some very significant problems with their ignition switches in the past, although they were fixed long before 1998, a misadjusted switch could leave you stranded. |
