305 Camshaft

Whats a good cam that I can swap into my lb9 tpi? I'm looking for a straight swap, I appreciate the zealous thinking with engine swaps and other things, but there must be a camshaft, that literally, just goes right in. So if you aren't going to suggest a camshaft that will just drop in, without a million other things, dont bother...yes, i know its good to upgrade other parts, but still, im talkin bout a cam, that will just, drop, in.

Re: 305 Camshaft

well how different are the heads and such between the 305 and 350. i know the blocks are the same so my question is wouldnt any cam that fits the 350 fit the 305? im not the most knowledgable person when it comes to the third gen power plants so i dont really know...

Re: 305 Camshaft

im pretty sure there is a difference, not sure what the numbers are. ive seen people use vette aluminum heads (58cc) on a 305. ive even thought of looking for a cam out of a manual lb9 for the better lift and duration etc. but if lets say an lt4 hot cam would fit in id use that too. im hoping someone on here knows something more about this engine because there has to be a cam that would fit.

Re: 305 Camshaft

Theres a guy around here that has 2 good cams for a 305. They are either equal to the manual/LB9 combo but I think they might have a little more light and are slightly better.

They are both in good shape but I forget what he wants.
