First off, hello i am new to this forum. i was wondering what kind of amp i would need to power my 2 orion 12 inch subs with 500rms 1000max
i dont know a whole lot about amplifiers so fill me in
last weekend me and my friend installed a wireing kit to my car with 4 gauge wire *shrug* tell me what watt amp you think i should get hopefully around $200-$300

Look for a MTX 5100D. My subs are the same specs as yours wattage wise and it powers mine just fine. Someones going to post back and tell you about Elemental Designs so I might as well. Details now...

I'm a big believer in JBLs amps.. so I'd have to say the JBL BP1200.1 (roughly $289)..gives you a sturdy 600w x 2 rms (2ohm) into both the subs.

thanx for the imput i was also thinking of getting mtx but never herd of jbl till now. Would you happen to have a link to either of those amps i cant find them anywhere

btw theses subs are 4 ohm i dont really know what that means.
i see amps only that are rated at 1200 at 1 ohm but would that work with my sub (figurativly speaking)
