Question one question / one info (Mika inside)

Hello,

First part______________________________________________

I searched on the forum and find nothing on it.
I have had this idea some months ago and now I want an answer :

You know all that Ayrton "Magic" Senna helped in developpement of the Honda NSX (I love this car). I heard that he advised to put 15" rims on front instead 16" (is it true ?)

So my question is : has Ayrton Senna helped McLaren during F1 developpement ?

Second part___________________________________________

I spoke about this info only to Erik :

I believe to know that Mika Hakkinen owns a grey F1 since late 2001, someone else know more ?

It would be interesting to know chassis number I am sure if it is true that some guys know something. It's time to speak about !

Thanks to the readers

Ciao
Phil

I have no knowledge of Ayrton Senna's involvement in the F1's development. I would not be shocked to find out that he helped in some ways, but I've never seen any text proclaiming that he did.

As for Mika owning an F1 - as I told you, it's entirely possible, but I've never seen hard evidence.

And someone who saw him with a McLaren F1 in a car dealer in Monaco in 2001, it is not a hard evidence Or a try ?

That's more than I've heard so far.

Hopefully he realizes by now that the car is not turbocharged.

Yes I am!

Shame on him...

I mean - he was one of their development drivers, and should have had plenty of seat time in the car at that point. Certainly enough to know that the damn thing doesn't have a turbo.

No, I'm sad to say it was Mika who said it!

I got the vid. and you can clearly see it's him who make that comment!

However, are we sure that the prototype he drives in the vid. does not have a turbo installed for testing purposes????

I find it hard to belive that a top driver like Mika said something like that out of the blue...?

I've also heard about his McLaren through rumors, but the only McLarens I'm certain of in Scandinavia is the F1 and GTR located in Sweden.

I don't believe turbocharging the F1s engine was ever an option in Gordon Murray's mind, so I can't see any reason they'd be testing one.

I think Mika was just poorly prepared for the interview. Pretty much everything he says about the F1 in that video sounds ridiculous.

The "turbocharger" comment was just the icing on the cake for me.

It's an incredible mistake to say something like that!
He was McLaren's top driver and star and does not know their own product????

Still, can we be sure it was not turbocharged in any way?
I too know Murrays vision did not include a turbo and thinking about the fact that BMW delivered 77bhp more than he asked for should be proof enough.....I just can't imagine Mika beeing such a F*** up!

I believe that the video can be found at www.racingflix.com

If not, I can probably send it through AIM or MSN once I get an internet connection at home again. I just moved and haven't got it set up yet.

The best part of the video is the commentary from Gordon Murray in the first 60 seconds or so.
