Wheel shake after replacing disk?

as I'm driving down the road, at various speeds, I'm fine, when I hit my brakes, at anything above 50 usually, I get a wobble in my steering wheel, if I break super-hard, it goes away, when I'm going at the same speeds and I downshift, I have no problem at all,

naturally, I figured it was the break disk. I was about to replace both front hub/bearing assemblys so i changed out the front rotors and pads at the same time...I STILL have the problem. !!!!.......seeing as how it doesn't do it when i downshift, ..I'm thinking maybe it's a caliper problem? ...when I looked at the pads i took off and they were worn evenly, and the pedel doesn't really report back and pulsing when the wheel is shaking during breaking) any idea where I could look next?...thanks for any help ahead of time. ...

Re: Wheel shake after replacing disk?

It sounds like you have a hub with 'run-out' [bent flange where the disc/wheel bolt on]. Make sure a wheel isn't bent [jack it up and give them a good spin]. You've done all you can, I think, the next stop is a good shop [I'd avoid Midas, etc...], tell them your problem and ask them to check the run-out of both rotors [this must be done with the wheel nuts on & torqued to spec.]. If they find any
you'll know you'll need a hub.

Re: Wheel shake after replacing disk?

Check the lower control arm bushings at the rear of the control arm.
