Hey everyone, I am about to ask you guys about which kit you suggest me to buy. Wait!!!!!!!!!Don't leave this thead. I know, I know, a modeler should only buy the kit that he or she likes (which i agree and stand by), but i like all of these. And no I am not a newbie, i have been modelling for 5 years and I am not trying to figure out what model kit to begin with. I have found great prices on all of these kits and that is why i can't make a decision. And also I have never seen these kits in person so i can't make a confident decision. I want a hot kit that can be hooked up with scratch built parts and body kits. And i am only going to buy 1 of these becuz i am starting school in a month. So here's the list (please!!!!!!! tell me if ou have heard bad news or bad reviews on any of these kits)
Tamiya Castrol Supra Tamiya Supra Fujimi Subaru Impreza WRX STI 02' Fujimi Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C Fujimi Nissan Skyline Coupe 350 GT Aoshima Nissan Skyline GTR Nismo Z Tuned Tamiya Nissan Skyline GTR VSpec II Tamiya Mitsubutshi GTO Twin Turbo Aoshima Veilside MR2 CI Fujimi New Sileighty Tamiya Enzo Aoshima Bomex Supra Fujimi NSXr 2002 Tamiya Honda S2000 w. metal plated body Tamiya Nissan 350Z If you have one last kit to build, which one would it be?

Re: Kit Help; Please read and take the time to help me.
Damn... I'd take, I guess, the 350 Z, even if the kit is very simplified concerning the chassis. It's however a wonderfull base for scratchbuilding. And an impressive design.
I'm fed up with Enzos... :fire: The Tamiya Supra, road version, could be a good choice too: it became a classic, the kit is very good, and has an engine. And just try to have a search on the complete and in progress sections to find pics of those kits built by AF members... It would give you an idea of their quality. Or just would help you to choose, if one catches your eyes...

Looking at the list, I would maybe sugest the road supra, yes I am biased but with the engine detail combined with the number of different kits (1:1) to be inspired by, It can be a great build.
If however you need a kit that OOB will last a while and take some time to build well and with starting school you don't really want a quickie and have to get another in a couple of weeks, maybe the Enzo would be a good choice. Take your time building whilst you prepare for school, it should fill a month. Richie

I've built the two Tamiya Supras and they are very good both of them, although you get an engine in the street car I would go for the Castrol car. But there is one that beats them both and that's the Enzo, which I'm currently building. A truly amazing kit of an amazing car. In my opininon, go for the Ferrari. Although it's complex it kind of falls together in the usual Tamiya way, I had no problems this far. When I dry fit the bodywork, all the panels line up properly without any major gaps.

out of those i have only built the Tamiya Supra(the regular one). i think its a pretty good kit. i didnt have any fitment problems except for the taillight covers but if you push em a little they will go in.

Re: Kit Help; Please read and take the time to help me.
I'd say S2000 if I only had one model to build ever again. But that's 'cause I love S2000s. If I were in your situation, I'd go with the street Supra. The engine gives you plenty to do, and the body takes well to simple body kits that are easy to make and just gorgeous!

If you would like to scratchbuild stuff and make a nice bodykit I would go with the Tamiya Supra. Engine detail is high, but not high enough for a perfectionist
Body is excellent for a bodykit and if you haven't got one yet... As Vric said, it's a classic

Re: Kit Help; Please read and take the time to help me.
I can't suggest which kit to get, because they're all good. (I think I have most of them.) But I can tell you that you should avoid Aoshima's Bomex Supra, because it's a rebox of the AMT kit, and it's only intended for the Japanese market. Also, Fujimi's Impreza spec-c dosn't have much appeal, unless you own the real car.
Everything else is good. |

Wow, thanks everyone for your replies. It seems like the Toyota Supra has earned the hearts of many. Right now after hearing what everyone had to say, I am stuck between the Street Supra, Fujimi 350 GT Skyline Coupe, and Sileighty. I am stuck on the Supra because of it's endless opportunities of customization and has an engine, the Fujimi 350 Skyline because I thought it would be a cool project to convert it to resemble a nismo skyline r34, and the Sileighty because it just caught my eye and it has opportunities to customize. The Con about the Supra is that I feel that I wont be original, and mostly all the combinations of rims and body kits have already been done to it(i also feel the same about the skyline r34 VspecII. The con about the other two kits is that they don't have an engine. So I am still debating right now. What do you guys think? And again thanks for your comments. You don’t know how much they have really helped me.
![]() ps. thanks hirofkd for the reviews on those kits. I mgith have gone through and bought one of them. Especially the subaru becuz tamiya has been slacking off and they haven't doen the new subaru wrx yet. They need to build more kits.
