School loans suck!

this is just me venting, but oh well...
i am graduating college in 4-5 weeks (finally) and i am looking forward to the real world where i dream of having a great job, making lots of money and fixing up my car the way ive always wanted to.

Reality check..i owe $26,000 in loans (which i guess is not that much...it was only two years) but still...it means my 93 hatch with be like 15-16 years old when i finally get my loans payed off and can start working on it....

i may as well just forget the civic, and buy a used 2004 Accord Coupe V6 (by then on 04 will be a few years old)

im tired, so im probably not making sense.....

gooodnight

Re: School loans suck!

I have a solution for you, if your willing to work hard.

there is this company, who (for $49.99) and 7 day shipping will allow you to assemble tiny little christmas ornaments, and they are VERY simple to do with a glue gun, or if you can do fiber.

you do it from home, they ship you products...you get $37.50 for every 50 peices (1 unit) that you make, and its a really good program.

that might allow you to pay off some of your debt a little faster, you could easily do an extra $250-$450 a week....depends on what you want to do...you might divide it in half and save for a car, or for a trade to a 6th gen civic or something like that.

You could totally build those things while watching tv, playing video games...they can fit in the palm of your hand, they are so small.

if you'd like to know about it, contact me....I might could help you.

Re: School loans suck!

could you tell me where that place is please help me I have a 97 civic hx red color with only one change in it "A cd player" now that isnt the best thing in the world I know that, but I want to buy like maybe some better speakers and maybe a bodykit that will then be a little better and with some 17's that would be perfect. i'm only 15 and like 8 months, but dont say that i'm too young to have a car right now because until i'm done with my car it would take maybe 2 years to pput better speakers, wheels, and bodykit. I gotta pay everything except gas after getting the car just for free from my dad. and also its not a POS it's actually almost new I will put some pics on the site later. Well Thanks and please tell me that website because I can get my mom to buy it for me and i'll do that program 24hrs a day frr as long as I can. again PLEASE.

school loans do indeed suck, but..

im only 16 and bought my car recently, been saving for quite a while, and even had to get 2k from my uncle to buy it. but i have a part time job that is paying me quite good and will end up giving me lots of money in a years time that i can do alot to my car with. before i go to college im gonna take a year off and work my @$$ off then go to college with the money i have saved. by then my car should kick, just with my part time job. anywase that's what i plan on doing untill college comes.

Re: School loans suck!

exman, I hope you're kidding about the military... I saw guys get killed - and one guy kill himself - because they joined for college money or because they were bored or some such thing and weren't prepared for the consequences. Don't do it for a car, for Christ's sake. I should have been more clear before. The GI Bill is okay, but it's just a benefit, not a reason to join. It will never make up for all the bullshit I went through to get this far.
Sorry to take the thread off track, but it didn't have all that much track to begin with anyway.

Re: School loans suck!

wow. i thought the ornament thingie was a joke, and then someone linked to the site. I guess it's not a bad idea actually. My question is, how are the financing options on the loan? Maybe you can work something out? Fact is, it's not the end of the world. Go thru your options and work something out. I promise it's still possible to modify your car.

you are going to take a year off school to get money to work on a car?

better take another look at what is important in life and find out that a car that kicks is rather low on the list

Re: School loans suck!

Damn straight.
A car is the means to get from home to school to work and back again. Anything else you do to it is secondary to that, and if you give up important things in your life just to have a twelve-second Civic, you'll regret it.
I drive a pretty nice car, compared to most of my friends at least, but it was just something I picked up on my way through real life. My mods were a way to kill time on the weekends. I fucking LOVE street racing, but it's not my life. And I know that at any time I could wreck and watch all those hours of work get turned into scrap metal. I'd be bummed, but I could walk away from that with no regrets, because in the end it's just a car. Most of you younger guys will realize this stuff pretty damn quick after high school.
I hope.

Re: School loans suck!

I took a year off to build my first car. It was fun you only live once. But it is harder getting back in the groove of school. But when ur done the money flows like wine!! oh and i am in debt up to my ears with school loans but thats part of life so i deal.

I agree don't take any time off just for a car. I personaly just graduated from college last year and now all the bills are catching up with me like the school loans and the all the other bills because I just bought a house. But I tell you what I still better off then some of my friends. I have one friend who had to take a year of school to catch up with his bills because he bought a brand new car and my other friend is about to claim bankrupcy because he bought a new car too and charged up a bunch of stuff on his credit cards for aftermarket parts. I instead saved my money bought a wrecked 96 civic and I fixed it all up, and I tell you I got the nices car between all my friends (except my one buddy got a 04 cobra it's nice but joined the army to make payments on it) And the nicest thing about my car is its nice and its all PAYED for..
