Interior painting?

Howdy!

Any camarors attempted interior painting in their camaros? i am quite sick of my black stock dash/consoles, and will like to put some color in my car. i did notice that G2 spray set is pretty popular, but as usual, i will like to hear from the mass...
One problem though: I am not sure about 97-up models, but for 93-96 models, we have the interior parts that have irregular texture like the instrument cluster, stereo bezel. Wonder if the paint will look good on them? i hate to end up with a cheap-looking camaro with a freaky interior!

Aagin, anyone done that, been there? if you do have pictures of custom interior/painted interior, please include the links/pics.

Thanks!

Re: Interior painting?

interior paint is really only needed if you plan on having anal sex in your car with another man.

Re: Interior painting?

i dont like painting interior parts. to me it looks cheesy, cause the parts always turn out looking like you spray painted them. not to mention that the paint normally rubs off or chips from the heat inside the car. i dont know if they came out with a better plastics spray paint but i wouldnt do it, just cause it will never look right if you just spray paint your dash...

Camaro Interior Paint

I did all my interior pieces Blue and white,by myself with can spraypaint, and it has not rubed off, cracked or chipped for over 4 years.I used Plasti-kote paint, and a gray primer to start,I also sanded every piece before I began.Pictures are included.Last year I won 7-1st place trophys at car shows here in NC,SC.1-Best of show win in Raleigh.and many top 50 and top 75 awards.

Took me about 2 to 3 days to tear every piece out and sand,prime,paint,re-install.

Yes you can paint you plastic pieces but be warned if you use regular spray paint without a adhesion promoter it might scratch real easy. The best thing is to use the new ricer plastic paints with the promoter, I've seen quite a few interiors painted with that stuff and it seems to work pretty good.
