2001 F250 Leaking diesel on right side of motor
Hi, I have a 2001 F250 with a 7.3L diesel. And it just has recently started leaking a little diesel on the right side of the motor. I noticed it when i changed the oil the other day. Has anyone else had this similar trouble? Let me know.
Thanks Mike |

Re: 2001 F250 Leaking diesel on right side of motor
The fuel drain valve on the filter housing is not shut off completely. I find this ALL the time.

Hello Micheal,,
Just wondering if you found out what the problem was. I seem to be having the same problem. Please advise. Jaime |

Same problem
My 99 is leaking diesel on the right side , the drain valve is closed and it is still leaking. It seems to leak more when I let it idle for more than 10 min. If I drive it it wont leak for a while. I am wondering if the valve is going bad. The truck has 400,000 on it. Any ideas

Re: 2001 F250 Leaking diesel on right side of motor
Jerry,
Your ''91 has a different engine, same displacement, completely different design. You have a "lift pump" on the rt front side, and they are subject to leaks, as are the fitting seals, which are easily replaceable. |
