Passenger window won't move (INTERMITTENT)???

Just replaced both window motors in my '92 TRans Sport. HAve been working fine for the last 2 weeks. WEll, tonight the passenger window won't move or even attempt to go up or down. WHere should I check first? The switch on drivers door or the switch on the passenger door? someone where else??

UPdate, the new motor only fixed the problem for about 1 week. All of a sudden the doggone thing quit on me for 3 days and this afternoon it resurrected itself. ANy ideas?

90 accord, You said you replaced the drivers side switch. When your window didn't work, did neither switch work? In other words, did you just have a bad drivers side switch? Would the passenger side switch work when the drivers side was bad. On my Trans sport, neither switch will work the window, when it aint't working. But when it works, both switches work. I'm trying to figure out if the having a bad drivers side switch will prevent the passenger side switch from working?

1- The right switch and motor operation does depend on a proper ground path provided through the left switch.

2- Because of the note in the diagram about the electronic circuit breaker, if the window is hard tomove due to poor lubrication it will load the motor too much and then the elecronic breaker cuts the juice to the motor...then it cools down and will try again....
May be this is a hint, may be not....ask for more if needed.

mmm...to be clear, you should read :
THe passenger side switch and motor operation does depend on a proper ground path provided through the driver side switch assembly.

Re: Passenger window won't move???

My 92 PA now has a power window on the passenger side that cannot operate with the passenger switch but CAN be operated from the driver side switch. Sounds like 90accords problem. So I will replace the passenger side switch. Any idea how much this part cost? Is this available through dealer only?

Re: Passenger window won't move???

As I've posted before on similar posts, you may have a broken wire between the door and body, causing an intermittent problem. You bend the wire just right, it makes a connection, you open the door, it breaks connection. Check for continuity between body and door to see if that's your problem.

Richtazzz,

You are 100% correct (at least in my situation). I don't know how to fix it exactly but I know if I wiggle the wires in the door panel, I can make the window go up and down.

I messed up and was working on the wires between the door and the body. My wire problem in still in the door panel.
