front end

recently when pulling up to my driveway to get in my garage I hear an audible metallic click front the front end. Basically i pull up to the garage slow down, and put the car in reverse to get lined up with the garage. When putting the car into the reverse and starting to back up I hear this click from the front right side. any ideas?

update.....i'm not sure what side the sound is coming from, either left or right when starting to back up. The car drifts to the right on the highway.

i talked to the mechanic on the phone. He says since it only does this when backing up from drive it is the pad shifting in the holder. It doesn't make this noise any other time. What do you think?

thanks for the responses. I think its just the pads moving. It only does this the first time I move from forward to reverse. If I hear the click, stop , and back up again and slam the brakes the click is gone.

Re: front end

hey, im assuming you have an auto, i had a 92 automatic si. And it did the same thing. I checked, and along time ago there was a recall for the noise it makes when shifting in reverse. Mine did then and still does it and the tranny works fine. Check a recall notice for the 92's and you should see it on there, althought its to late to actually get it recalled.
