1995 accord ex 6x9 speaker install help

hey, sorry this is kind of a stupid question..

After i installed my door panels speakers i decided to install the rear decks, i thought they would be 10x easier, (since theres no door to take off )

But turns out, I was wrong..

I get the speaker griles off, then these freakin bolts i can't seem to get off, my tool supply is limited, would a rachet do it?

If so i need to buy a rachet..

I tried wrenchs and such but no luck..

Has anyone had problems with these bolts before?

So bottomline, what tool do I use? (And what size would be nice)

Did you already go into the trunk to try and get at the bolts? My problem was the bolts wouldn't stay on and the speakers would rattle, but then again I have a prelude. There shouldn't be much of a difference though.... try going through the trunk for a better angle. Oh and the nut size is 10 mm, so i think you should be able to use a wrench. Hope this helps!

Re: 1995 accord ex 6x9 speaker install help

Yeah, i got off the phillips screws from in the tunk, then my haynes manual (took advice from people here and bought it) tells me to unscrew three bolts holding the speaker on..

All the wrenchs i had were too big, so i guess I am getting a socket wrench, with a 10 mm attachment, thanks for the size..

Also, my cars not a 2 door or hatch back, the bolts i need are on rear deck, (i dont understand how i would go through the trunk to get them)

But i did try it, no luck, i am just sripping them now, I guess I will get the right tool tomrow.

Sorry I forgot to mention, if it seems like your stripping them, are you holding on to the bolt and turning the nut, or vice versa? I've been really frustrated cause I forgot to hold onto one end. I know it's always different working on your own car. Best of luck!

for my back speakers i had to take the whole back dash out, above the seats. it was a pain in the @ss but once i got it off, it was easy to install the speakers and everything.

Most of the time you can just pop them off, but like T-Racer said, some of the accords you have to take the rear shelf off to get to them.
