Blew my F***ing MAFS again

dammit. my Mass airflow sensor blew again. the guy at nissan is the man and eventhough i didn't put my stock airbox back on he still got the work done for me under warranty. he did, however, tell me that this is the last time he can cover for me and asked me to leave the stock airbox in. what fun is that? i love the way it sounds, but i can't afford a new $300 MAFS next time it blows, which it will. WTF is up with nissan? why can't they issue a TSB and give us a MAFS that works like it's supposed to? my mom and dad are up my ass cuz i've been borrowing their cars for the time being. They won't listen to me when i say that it's a faulty design. they think it's cuz i'm "always doing something to my car".

does anyone know something to rectify this shitty situation, like a 3rd party MAFS or something? I should just sell the damn thing, buy another 4th gen and slap a turbo on the bitch.

Re: Blew my F***ing MAFS again

Just Hack the stock airbox. Its supposed to be better than an aftermarket intake anyway.

I'm pretty sure that the way its done, you can't tell just by looking at it. The way I understand it you just drill holes(or one big hole) in the underside of the airbox. There are a few threads about it on Maxima.org, so you might want to check there.

Talking

Or you can simply get the updated 2001 Maxima MAF from Jerry Rome Nissan for about 87.00 shipped. I heard that it's better design and Maxima owners have seen an increase in Low-end power. Mine is on its way
