handling

i dont know how the vr4 handles in the rain but my sl is terrible it was pooring here in nj yesterday and if there is alot of water on the road forget it... it throws the front end everywhere u can lose control of the car real quick no matter how tight you hold onto the wheel. HOW DOES YOUR GUYS CAR HANDLE IN THE RAIN?(THE 3000 STILL ROCKS)

Re: handling

My vr4 handles ok with good tires, but realistically, in the rain we had yesterday here in Philly, or the snow I had to deal with in NY last winter, I would have prefered my timid little FWD honda. The vr4 just has a hard time with traction if it isn't dry out(just my experience)

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

mine handles well, its FWD and I can usually punch out about 65 on the high way and 55 on the street and even corner at like 25 in a delluge! I think its all in the tires! I have good ass 245/45-17 Falken tires.

Re: handling

my car handles well in those conditions, the fact that its awd and heavy helps at high speeds in water also. tires are a big help too.
i once got loose in the rain coming around a corner, it was fun cause it fish tailed a little and straitend right out and just ran from there. if that was my dads c5 vette i would have lost control and went in a circle.

Re: handling

i have a r/t tt an i had bridgestone potenza's on it the directions - like 240 a pop an it was handling great in the winter 3 years ago on new years it was a lil icy - but i was on a pretty curvy road not goin any slower than 90 an not any faster than 120 till the highway - i hit 150 an was skeptical on goin any faster- i think its all about the tires with the awd twin turbo - cause those tires handle awsome in rain dry an mid slippery but when there was an inch of snow i was doin 35-40 on a straight road down a hill an not even on the gas an i spun a 180 an almost hit a guardrail until i put it in 1st real fast then second an stopped the gas to whip back around--- but ya i havnt yet found a good snow tire for it - its hard cause the of the size 17" 245 45's so if anyone has found a good tire - please share -

Re: handling

yeah i live in jersey too an the conditions of weather can be fucked up thats why i am happy with those bridgestone's they are good all cept for the winter - i havnt tryed the good year eagle z that usually come stock on the car - i got a set i guess i will try them out this year ... they are some meaty lookin tires so they prolly do pretty good - i'll let ya know i guess.... and ya the awd is awsome - i was pulling outa a parking lot in newton nj - an my buddy was like yo whip out when u leave so i redlined first right in the middle of the turn an then slammed second an it powerslide an face where i just pulled out of - an then i corrected the steering still on the gas - an if hooked up an took off - i never have felt a car hook up as good as this one - in my eyes the awd is one of the nastyest drive trans i have ever drivin - an i have driven a few including wrx an an audi s6 biturbo an neither compared.....
