Towing equipment
I added a rec'vr hitch and trailer light harness to my 01 Rodeo in order to pull my jetskis. Since my Rodeo didn't come from the factory with the tow package, is there anything else that needs added? Specifically, I'm interested in if there was additional cooling for the tranny or engine in the factory tow package? Some vehicles add these things when the tow package is ordered with a new car.

Re: Towing equipment
I think you should be fine with your factory tranny cooler which is build into the your radiator. There was not tow package offered by Isuzu (other then an over priced hitch).
If your not doing mountain towing I wouldn't worry about adding another tranny cooler.

Re: Towing equipment
Agreed, I tow a 4K# boat with the SOHC 3.2L V6, she pulls the boat just fine.
I towed it once, however, over the Continental Divide (Colorado), she did a fine job in 3rd gear and power mode, I babied her all the way. Never allowing the RPM's over 4K - wouldn't choose to do it again. Just too much work up through Eisenhower for a moderate V6 engine. But, flat-land driving, moderate hills, your truck should do just fine. Mine tows the boat at 55-60mph without much effort below 10K feet and that's with 124K miles everything original. I have no additional cooler, only very frequent maintenance.
