Question changing the dash lights

My dash lights are out on my 91 s10 truck is there an easy way to go about changing the bulb, or is it a real pain to do? dop I need to take apart everything on the dash to access it?

Re: changing the dash lights

I changed my bulbs about a year ago. It's a bit of a pain. My bulbs were PC-168, and only available throught he dealer. It's a 168 bulb with a special base. The old bases are not able to be reused, so you gotta buy the bulbs new. Get this... My local dealer wanted about $8 per bulb, and If i'm right, you need 7 bulbs to replace them all. Since your changing the bulbs, change them all. But go to www.buy-oem-parts.com, MUCH cheaper, about $1.50 per bulb.
As for how to do it, just sit in the drivers seat and slowly remove the screws working your way to ger the instrument panel out. It can get frustrating. I think I spent 3 hours doing mine. Just be real careful with the connections to the instrument guages.

I hope this helps.
