Ricers I love and Ricers I hate!

Hello. I just wanted to cover this really quickly. All over, especiallly among my friends there is a very unhealthy hatred for the crap box civics running around poluting our ears with their crap can mufflers. But if you step back and take a look fairly, there are just as many, just as slow f body, G body, Fox Body, etc with loud exhaust that can't even cut a 17 in the quarter.

My point is that it goes both ways. There are a lot of V8 guys out there with 140hp in there '86 camaro that think it can take down a ferrari cause "It feels quick".
There are just as many eclipse owners thinking the same.

I respect anyone that works on there car to better it. Good luck and hopefully everyone can achieve their goals they have for the respective rides. Hopefully we can all help eachother out. But remember it goes both ways!

Your a 100% right about that too. I do see other honda civics that look like crap and coming from a civic owner it puts me to shame. the worst i ever saw was a civic with a camaro decal on the windshield(TALK ABOUT IDENTITY CRISIS!) But more people need to stop just bashing on civics and look at some other brands and see that its not just honda, its dodge, ford , nissan, toyota, mazda, mitsubishi, chevy,volkswagen and any others i forgot to mention. Ive seen some shitty lookin neons and cavaliers around my town and people have the nerve to rag on civics only and ive seen mustangs and camaros (the pretenders who have v6s but say they have v8s) i wanted a mustang bad but i needed something reliable and a civic had what i wanted so i know other neon, cavalier, mustang and camaro owners can see what im talking about that they take pride in their cars and when they see the ones that make them look bad they can't help themselves but get offended. i dont hate imports or domestics. i just wish they could look at other brands and not sterotype civics only because plenty of other brands do it also.

well around here, the more educated enthusiasts will tell you that a ricer is anyone ingnorant of speed or cars. you can rice out a stang, civic, anything really.

I agree with all of you. Any car can be rice. Anyone seen the teckademic videos? I love the clip where they found some idiot at a car show with a Mustang that had a GT-R logo (Skyline) Put on it. When the teckademic crew interviewed him he admited to having a rotar in there with new forged pistons... good stuff.

Never saw an interview like that but it sounds real funny. I saw something similar on the road. This guy had an infiniti G35 (non coupe) and you could see that he ripped the infiniti logo off and he put a Nissan logo on. He also took the G35 logo off and put a skyline logo on adding a red GT-R logo below. I was laughing at him for so long, he thought he was the slickest man alive, he fooled everybody!

Wow that is feeding into the American Skyline senario way to much. The G35 coupes are nice, but i guess every punk can turn a classy car into a soy sauce craving rice bowl.

i hate all these little hondas and acuras running around with there little DOHC vtec engines and the shitty sound they give out with fart cannons on them ill admit yes i have a fart cannon on my car too but mine sounds nice it doesnt sound raspy like abunch of pop farts im just sick of seeing all these little VTEC DOHC ive spanked quite a few of them with my SOHC neon engine with exhaust and intake and some even being si's so i say junk all the hondas and acuras

Well isn't the pot calling the kettle black... You have a neon with an intake and exhaust and you hate ricers? I understand the limitations of my car and my 2L engine, but don't think we are all morons trying to be Mario Andretti

how is a neon with intake and exhaust ricer. i dont have no stupid wing on the back of my car i dont have any body work done there is nothing ricer about my car. and i was simply saying that im tired of seeing acuras and hondas did i say anything about them being ricers or not? i dont recall so.

You were obviously taking about ricers whether you said the word or not...A ricer is more than a body kit. Having an intake and ehxhaust on a civic and thinking you can "spank" andybody driving a certain type of car definately defines a ricer...so how does the same thing with a neon exclude you from that category?

i dont race everybody i see, and i dont race what i know i cant beat, not to mention i dont even really start races, if there is something next to me that is reving at me and i know its a good race then yes ill do it. i was simply saying that everybody that has a vtec honda thinks they run the streets. i know my car isnt the facest car on the streets and just cause i put an intake and exhaust on my car that makes it a ricer and how so? are you suggesting that i go out and buy abunch of extra fiberglass and a wing for a car with a stock motor? well no thanks

Thats my whole point right there...you assume everyone with a vtec fits your little description...I know there are guys out there with a civic with a body kit and completely stock under the hood who think they have a ferrari...but not everyone with a honda thinks that.......ive seen ppl with stock neons who think they have a race car...but if I saw you on the street I wouldn't just assume you were a ricer...so don't do the same with hondas
