Bov
On my cardomain guestbook i was written this....
"DUDE!!! you might want to do some more research before you do any mods on your list... your greddy BOV.. if ya vent to the atmosphere you'll end up running way to rich.. engine thinks the air that was blown off is still in the system and adds fuel accordingly.... HINT... find a 1GEN BOV... holds about 15-16psi over the 2gen's plastic one which leaks and holds about 13-15psi..." Can someone explain this to me in laymens terms. im lookin to add greddy exhaust, injen intake, greddy BOV, greddy innercooler and big 16G turbo upgrade please explain to me what order i will need to do them in and what is my best apporoch. Mind you i will be doing them at my local performance store so they will pretty much be doing it for me anyways so this is just so i know before i go into it. The guy that will be doing all my work owns an eclipse GST-X that was converted to AWD- has 500+ hp...dont ask me how...and over 30 grand under the hood alone. so he knows his eclipses..please HELP ME Thanks a million Dave... |

Re: Bov
My buddy Chad put down 500 to the wheels for about 5 grand, dont know how anyone can spend 30.
You can do those mods all at once if you like, or in any order. With no fuel mods though, you have to keep boost low. 15-16 psi would be the highest I would go without datalogging. The Greddy FMIC is a pile in my opinion. Pretty small, especially for the money. But it is easy to install, and if the 16g is the largest turbo you plan to run, it will be ok. The greedy BOV is fine, just dont vent it. A 1g will work well too and is 200 bucks cheaper. Its a matter of budget I guess. Either way, dont vent the BOV when using the stock air sensor, just not worth the trouble (plenty of info in other threads about that). Make sure you shop around on some prices too, many local shops rape you on the cost. Good luck.
