i, chopper? american chopper i, robot theme bike

I really love this show, although sometimes it gets a bit cheesy. i was watching it and they were being show some storyboards from will smith's movie i, robot for inspiration and they even brought in a graphic artist to help them visualize the design. man was I excited to see what they were going to come up with, it seemed like they might do some real fabrication.

But i was disappointed when they just their same "theme bike" routine, and it got me to thinking about what an i, chopper bike might look like, so i did some sketches which i spent most of the time erasing to clean the lines up:

Anyways i was wondering if people here would be interested in doing a comp on that sort of theme?

Its an interesting idea, but I dont know how many people would be in on it. That, and we have 2 other contests going right now that we need to let finish before starting a new one.

Nice bike though!

I'd be in for design contest...as long as we pick our own chopper theme (or lack thereof).

Personally American Chopper is starting to piss me off, the bitching is getting so old.

I hated those stupid theme bikes since day one. It defeats the whole entire purpose of a chopper.

Mikey's the only cool one anyway.

Yes, I am the only cool one.

Anyway, choppers are meant to be show bikes. They should be rideable but the primary purpose isnt transportation.

correct. imo, the theme bikes are cool. some are better than others. i recall the POW/vietnam bike. that was amazing. and the snap-on tools bike was awesome. the 9/11/firefighters bike was amazing. too many to recall now.

i like the show. those people are genius: they found a niche and smothered it to death. and they are spot-on with their art and craft.

all the rest are just follow-up shows to it. i like american hot-rod, but not as much. i've liked boyd cottington for years, actually. and it was neat to see he finally got a show.

it is a toss-up between american chopper and monster garage for me.

the american chopper show is aiight, just sometimes i think they play too safe sometimes...but the painter on that show is the star imo, he outrageously.

monster garage > american chopper

You know what I think that Chip Foose should get his own show. Now that would be cool...

I know but that is like different I mean like a show completely revolving around him and his shop, like the coddington show, American Hot Rod.

No he shouldnt and he wont... I used to like Jesse James until he started doing stuff for the money, I like OCC long before they started selling out, Im now just waiting for Coddington to do the same. Chip Foose is a down to earth man, way to busy for a show. He isnt in it for the publicity stunts, he is in it for the love of building. As it is he does overhaulin, and all he does are the sketches (which cost $7,500USD for the original) usually because he is busy with other stuff.

Yes I know that lots of these type of shows will sell out and do thinkgs for money. I am also aware of Chip Fooses popularity and Hecktic schedule, so to speak. I am just throwing around Ideas. I mean, not a publicity show but just to put some cameras in his shop to see just how he makes such beautiful vehicles that is all I am suggesting...

There is a show, called Rides. I believe he has been on a few times.
