check engine light and engine fan

Ok my check engine light has been on for some time, and i keep reseting it (by d/c the battery). But it keeps on comming back on. I had them read at autozone, they said it was an emmisions something or other, i dont remember exactly. But anyways they told me it was from either trying to fill my gas tank up too much, to not tightening the gas cap enough. Well i had them reset it, and i still comes back on, and i've reset it, as i said before, and it still comes back on. Here the thing, now that my check engine light is on, my engine fan is on anytime the car is running, i start the car its on, the car idles, its on, the cars in drive, its on, reverse, its on. So yea you get the point. Any one got any clues on this?

Also i need the heater resistor. The one that blows in ga's all the time. My temp control doesnt work on the fourth setting. Can someone tell me a good place to find one.

Thanks in advance,
Justin

Re: check engine light and engine fan

they talking about youre evap system? i think it takes like 3 days of the system test to pass before it will stay off......the gas cap thing is the most common reason the code is set, but it could be a leak in the evap system..... have youre gas cap pressure tested and if it doesnt need to be replaced, good luck....the smoke test to find a leak in the evap sys is a pain and i only know of dealers who do it..... youre resistor should be available at a parts store.....piece
