79 corvette electrical

Hi everyone, I have a friend with a 79 corvette with a aftermarket 350. I recently have been having issues with the battery not holding a charge.

I have replaced the battery, and have had the alternator checked and have been told it is ok. It still seems to not hold a charge. the alt. light was on before but now it does not light up.

Could this be the voltage regulator having a problem? I am kind of new to corvettes, cant seem to find the voltage regulator either.

What else should I suspect.

Thanks everyone.

In my 79 the regulator is in the alternator so if one goes, they both "go". Fortunately, they are not terribly expensive so if you are sure the battery is OK -- and have checked the wiring to make sure the connections are clean, not corroded and tight, I'd spend the $60 to replace the alternator.

Good luck!
