79 corvette electrical
Hi everyone, I have a friend with a 79 corvette with a aftermarket 350. I recently have been having issues with the battery not holding a charge.
I have replaced the battery, and have had the alternator checked and have been told it is ok. It still seems to not hold a charge. the alt. light was on before but now it does not light up. Could this be the voltage regulator having a problem? I am kind of new to corvettes, cant seem to find the voltage regulator either. What else should I suspect. Thanks everyone. |

In my 79 the regulator is in the alternator so if one goes, they both "go". Fortunately, they are not terribly expensive so if you are sure the battery is OK -- and have checked the wiring to make sure the connections are clean, not corroded and tight, I'd spend the $60 to replace the alternator.
Good luck! |
