1964 impala ss--column shifter available?
Did the 1964 Chevy Impala Super Sport ever have a column shifter available as an option, or just the floor shifter?
Someone on eBay is selling a '64 SS; the picture shows a column shifter. He also says the original bucket seats had been removed, and there is now a bench seat in place. No chrome or other SS identifiers are left on the project car---thoughts? |

I have heard of it, but never seen it. Have the link by any chance?

My '64 SS had a "3 in the tree" before I ditched it for a TH350. Numbers checked out......

The '62, '63 and '64 Chevrolet Impala SS was only available with bucket seats, console and floor mounted shift lever, with either a 2 speed powerglide automatic or a 4 speed manual available as transmission options.
Every engine option was available, from the 235 6 cyl. to the three duece 409. There were alot of Impalas running SS trim, it was an easy thing to do and the SS option would not show up in the VIN#. tbuckit1
