components for new set-up

I just bought a 2000 Lincoln LS. It's all stock n the stereo sux. I was thinking about a Sony CDX-M8805X (i've had sony head units n i like em) if there is another "better" brand with the active black face let me know. i need some help one choosing an amp for my 6.5's (i think) and there's some 6x8's yeah 6x8 because of the Ford thing do u guys recommend any. I'm not looking for compition speakers or anything just some that will sound good at high volumes provided by the amp. Thanx

Re: components for new set-up

There's a lot of good brands out there. What is your price range? What 6.5's do you have? Are you also looking to get a subwoofer? It will make everything sound a lot better and doesn't necessarily have to be a big knock you head off amount of bass but I would reccomend at least one 10 or even an re 8 from resonant engineering for your bass...This will also take the stress of lower frequencies off your comps.

Re: components for new set-up

umm i got the bass 2 S12L5's and hopefully the HiFonics Brutus BX1500D. For the speakers i was thinking cheap i know u could find decent ones for around 60-70 a pair so my price range is $100 a pair(is that ok?) will i find anything for that price or cheaper? Think i need cheaper ones cuz my LS has 4 door speakers (not really sure on size but i checked cruthcfields "what fits my car and it said that 6.5 was the size of the door speakers) and 2 6x8 in the rear deck and 2 2inch tweeter in the front.(that's alot of stock speakers) of course i will want an amp to power all these. Any suggestions?

P.S. does anyone know of a place to get good deals on car audio besides eBay?

Thanx again for ur input

so you want 6.5 components, you could get some infinity reference components for like 110 off ebay, then get some infinity reference 6x8's or w/e and that would work out pretty good....
