Ok heres a question but i dont know where to post troubleshooting problems. this is a general question. Why does the radiator fluid boil when its just idling? i mean is this normal if u idle for 20min? is there any way to prevent this besides not idling that long. i only did it once. but my friends car used to do it often. how hot does the motor have to get to make the coolant that hot?

over 100 celcius. its the water boiling in the coolent

with your car just sitting there idling theres not that much air going through the radiator and into the engine compartment. Your car will run cooler at 50 than sitting at an idle. If your talking about just sitting there with the car running, pop the hood. It will allow the hot air to escape easier.

hard wire your fan to run all the time if you have to and inlarge the fan as much as you can

Not all fans runn all the time , mine dont cut in till its real hot im gonna try a low tem stat see if the fans become more active. Your car would have to run for a long time to boil the water in the coolent , leaving your car idle for longer than 5 minutes is considered fairly harmful to the engine as well. Have your coolent checked to see if its mixed properly and also if you seem to be topping up the coolent perhaps you should consider a coolent flush.
I drive a gm product , gm products like to run hot hot = less power any little tips to help make it run a lil cooler?

so even if ur at a red light or something(say a friends house) its just better to shut it off? I will flush the coolant in a couple of weeks when i actually drive it.
