91EGT Bumper Removal

Ok, so I need to take my front bumper off my '91 Escort GT to do some repairs....
Haynes book barely even skims the surface on this issue. Could anyone fill me in on what needs to be taken off, and what is holding it in. Thanks very much

have done: engine swap, decked out bay, panasonic stereo, sub and speakers, ractive air filter...
to come: fix botchy body repair, cold air (crosses fingers), turbo (I wish), fixing many other nuisances like shoulder belt, dent, crummy window surround, missing screws and plastic push-ins. One day I plan to clean the car as well.

I know when we did bumpers on a focus. There was a special tool that snap on carries. I plan on changing the bumpers on my 91 LX. All my auto body friends say I need the tool. It pulls out the pins that hold the bumper on

Re: 91EGT Bumper Removal

no special tools. take off the corner lights, 2 screws, then take off the headlights, 5 bolts on each, 10 mm, if im not mistaken. you dont have to unplug them, just twist them and set them on top of the frame there. now unplug the wires to the fog lights if there there. and right underneath where the headlights were, you'll see 3 bolts on each side two on the inside on the car next to the frame, and one on the outside side of the car next to the frame, those are 13mm if im not mistaken. take those 6 bolts total off and wiggle a bit and pull and off she comes. just remember when putting it back on that there are retaining washers on the sides there that the groove in the bumper have to go back on.
