Server too busy.

YOur server is like busy 30% of the time, I notice. I think more bandwidth is needed. Maybe contributors accounts would help you fund higher data speeds.

The board has been busy the last couple of weeks.

Re: Server too busy.

What the hell went on tonight? The server was busy and down for hours on end. The server was busy for three damn agonizing hours. That pissed me off...

I mean come on, three hours? Igor, fill us in. Were you doing something to cause the trouble, or was there to much BS on the server.

Not much to say except it pissed me off.

Re: Server too busy.

I hate to complain when membership is free but I also find the server to be down quite often

Great.
Let me complain for you.
1. AF is a 'for profit' enterprise, given the plume of advertising everywhere. It has been suggested that donations should be made to help. Nonsense. This is not PBS. This is not a charity. There is no guarentee that 100% of our donations go into infrastructure. Therefore, I am in no hurry to donate.

2. It is private enterprise in a competitive industry. It relies on you and me, the contributor to provide the traffic required to attract the advertisers. If you and I don't post, no advertisers and no revenue.
Now I am highly annoyed at the server problems. I understand AF is growing and I am not demanding better service. If the server is down, I go elsewhere as do thousands (well, hundreds anyways) of AF fans.

Therefore server problems=less members=less revenue=no AF.
It's not rocket science.
Fix the darned server. No apologies, no requests for contributions.
Fix it.
Long term server problems are fatal to a web based company like this.
