Lamborghini Murcielago DX Version

HLJ is offering a Fujimi Lamborghini Murcielago DX version that cost more than the normal kits. Anybody know what fujimi has done extra to this kit?

It's Fujimi's fault. I believe they realize they are coming out with more new tools than Tamiya and are thinking it's fair to charge whatever they want to for them.

I tell you what though, they better come real strong with the quality of these new kits especially the Murcielago. Let's go fujimi and tamiya....it's July already........release the kits even though I don't need to spend anymore money

For what little extra you get w/their photoetch, I'll get the regular version. Decals look fine to me!

My '99 Diablo SV is nice, but it's missing a headlight cover and the body has many, many sinkmarks..basically everywhere there's a screw boss underneath, there's a sink mark. The Murcielago damned well better be done correctly! Fujimi's prices are at extortion-level.

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago DX Version

Yeah, their prices are pretty exorbant. I'm kinda sick of it, 'specially since they're one of the few that produce veilside kits and such, but I just hope that tamiya will come out with the JGTC Nissan 350Z, and I'll be happy, but Fujimi needs to quit raising prices, and as Diaz in Vice City says, "Dickheads, I'm surrounded by Dickheads!" In dickheads, I mean the price people at Fujimi.

Oh, don't correct me if I'm wrong on Diaz, I don't really care....

Yep, but I'm sure I can get a replacement from HLJ, they were awesome when my Miura arrived in a crushed box w/damaged parts. I sent them pics, they sent me a new kit. I'll send 'em pics of the still-sealed package w/the clearly missing headlight cover. I have an extra Tamiya 300ZX cover I can use (the Diablo used Nissan 300ZX headlamps units, and I think they used Z car covers as well...but the cover from the Tamiya kit is larger than the one in the Diablo).

I think this is the first Japanese kit I've ever had a missing part...and I've gotten dozens and dozens of them since the 80's.

If you run a business, that's exactly what you should do.
Besides, Tamiya can't even tool as many new kits as the rest. I wonder who had stopped buying Tamiya kits. (I haven't)

I got the DX version of Diablo, because it was only 400 yen more for the photoetch, which is probably cheaper than the aftermarket one from Studio27 and certainly cheaper than Acu-Stion's.
Since I'm happy with the DX Diablo, I'll do the same with the Murcielago and get one of each DX and 40tth anniversary.

Yes, but aftermarket sheets would be much more complete

I wonder if Tamiya has been concentrating too much on trying to tool "perfect" kits. I mean, whatever happened to the good ol' days when they released 20-30 kits a year? Now all they do is re-release stuff, and the new stuff coming out (like the Enzo and likely the Porsche) cost an arm, a leg and a kidney!

I think Fujimi realizes that they can make inferior kits and get away with charging exorbitant amounts of money for them because a.) nobody elses makes it, and b.) people still buy their kits no matter what they charge! I've NEVER paid so much for a Japanese kit in Hong Kong as I did with the Skyline 350GT. A 2500Y list price?!? What gives?!?

Ah well. What do you do.

clem..

Re: Lamborghini Murcielago DX Version

If you complain about price, just get a AMT kit a 10$, you might know why you pay more
