Angry my car pops why??

i have a 1986 ford mustang gt 5.0 it has a gt 40 302 high output with about 435 horse power..I cant get it to accelerate smooth it pops at about 2800 RPMS in every gear and i cannot get it to go past 4500 RPMS ..It is really annoying... I have put lots of money into this car to try to fix this problem. I changed the cam-feul preasure regulator- 50 millalitters throtle body larger feul rails...you would think it has to be something simple because the engine and 4 speed tran with all the other parts are all BRAND NEW. if anyone has had this problem or may know how i can fix this please help...any advice will help (i hope)

Re: my car pops why??

Need more info, what's your timing set at? Are you still speed-density or converted to mass-air? If you have 435 hp you have changed almost everything in that engine, so what's on it? What size injectors?

Re: my car pops why??

Popping is usually a sign of detonation. Is it only under deccelartion, or all around? What grade fuel are you running and what's your timing set too? Any other info you could give would be good.

Re: my car pops why??

Wen you say fuel pressure regulator is 90lbs, what do you mean? Stock fuel pressure is 38-39lbs. Also when does it pop? Under acceleration, decceleration, etc?

Holy Shit! Lower that fuel pressure now! Set it to no more than 40 psi! Go....Cmon. Then post back with results!

What color are the injectors?

ok i changed the fuel psi to a verious pounds of psi the car runs better with it set at 47psi i played with the timing still popping but runs better. the oil psi has always been way low but sence changed the timing to 14 advanced the oil psi has been better but still not the way it should be. i cant get the car to go any faster then 130-140 mph, the rpms are only at 3200. i have changed so many things that i dont know what else it could be. the car popps while accerating in gear or in nutural . i want to feel the cars full power and i have yet to , any other info you could give would be most helpful..i've done everything you said to do so far and its got better but it still not running to its full potential THANKS
