Z engine and Vortec

Hi all,

I am new to this forum but already find it useful. Lots of great info and a big thank you to all who help out.

That said, I have a question. I have a '92 Safari with the rear frame that is rotted out. That is the only problem. Z engine runs in top shape, body good etc.. I can get a '94 Astro w/Vortec for very cheap cuz owner figures motor is shot.

Question is: Can a Vortec be changed out for a "Z" engine? Tranny too?
Can computers be swapped to run properly etc...?
