Hi i am looking at importing a car from japan, but my question is since its going to be imported into the USA will i be able to drive because the car is a right hand drive. If its not legal is it possible to convert a right hand drive to a left hand drive? and would it cost much to do so.
thanks for your time |

Re: Importing a car
youll have to check your states laws on which cars can be imported from japan, to be driven legally. i know out here in illinois its illegal to drive a skyline, but a guy a few places down has one and its registered as a 240sx haha. as for the left hand conversion thats gonna take alot of time and alot of money due to fabrication and all that. just out of curiosity what are you looking to import?

I am looking at importing a 1993 celica all trac turbo (celica gt4) i would like to import it because they are easier to find over in japan. i have looked around in the U.S but i was not able to find many. i have found one on ebay but it was a local pick up only and i didnt have the means to travel to get it so i figured importing would be easier. The only problem i think i would have is just knowing whether i can use a right hand drive in the U.S.
idf you know of any sources where i could do a search for a Celica All-trac turbo in the USA that would be very helpful. |

Re: Importing a car
I've been looking for that car too, but it's hard to find. I'd love to have a 1994-1999 model of the Celica GT-Four, but it was never made here. Still, importing it and have a right-hand-drive car is gonna be too much hassle. Just keep searching for a USDM one.
