Hey when im racing and im pressing on the gas I cant slam down cuz the RPM's jump to the other side and I have to let go a lil and tap at it, so can I just not drive or is that just my car?

Re: Help

Please rephrase your statement. I have no idea what your talking about when you say rpms jump to the other side...

Re: Help

Ok, well like ok when im slamming on the gas and I let go then shift then slam on the gas again the RPM's go from like 1 to 7 and im redlining already, but then I gatta let go of th gas pedal and slowly press down or kinda tap the gas pedal... o ya and thi is kinda off topic but when I bought my car it had an intake(short ram) and the lil filter that sticks out the side or w/e my friend says I should connect a hose from that to the other small tube sticking out the engine, is that true? If no one knows what im talkin about ill post pics.

Re: Help

How is your idle when you first start the car and when you're at a light or stop sign?
About the hose, don't know if it will make a big difference. I've seen people with it attatched, without it attatched, and with a little breather filter on it. But if you don't attatch it or go the filter way then you should definently plug the hole in the intake; or you'll be leaking useful air from the intake.

Re: Help

Ya the hole is just open, and when its idle it sits at like 1500 RPM, and uh would a new clutch fix that lil problem or do I just not know how to drive?

Re: Help

are you pressing the gas, when you are shifting with the clutch? cuz when you pop the clutch in neutral, between the shifts, hitting the gas will raise the rpms drastically like that.

Re: Help

are the wheels spinning faster when the engine jumps to redline? if not, i would say the clutch is slipping.

Re: Help

no the wheels dont spin any faster than they were already spinning, but i think its because that when I hold the clutch to shift and let go i dont let go all the way, cuz i found out that its a long way, like i have to push my foot in pretty deep and pull my foot out really far, then i can press the gas, im gettin used to it now though
