flip up lights

Hey i just got to thinking, my car has flip up lights (its a 1988 integra) I was wondering if you could replace those with regualr lights? and does it create a drag while racing? i think it would. if i could do so how would i?

Flip-up lights = air brakes
You could always try to do a front end conversion if you have the money.
