Exclamation Mx-3 problems

Hello everyone,
There is a 1992 Mazda mx-3 v6 5spd, for sale close by, the car seems to be in decent condition, new brakes, valve cover gasket, tires, tune up, etc. I was hoping some of you mx-3 owners could let me know of any problems you have had with your cars, something to look for? thanks for any help! On a sidenote, anyone know some baseline numbers, performance-wise for the mx-3? thanks again.

Re: Mx-3 problems

130hp 115 torque, around 2994 lbs... belt tensioner can squeek when wet, Valve tick, basic 12 year old car stuff... the clutch might need to be replaced... It's a fun car I like mine... Same year model and such

just to clarify one thing...it's not that valve that ticks but most likely the hla or gear friction spring...comon probleme to all k serie engines...it can't hurt tough...

probleme with my mx??...mmm let me think...rust was getting on me like pest so i got that fixed up...disty is a common problem too

Re: Mx-3 problems

right... the valve tick is expensive to fix.. mainly because US models (not sure about cad models) have Hydrolic Valves which can't be adjusted and have to be replaced.. Valve tick isn't something major... just makes your engine sound not as good... Rust can be a problem it was with my exhaust system... I got rust on my headers, and cat... the piping became rusted out behind that and broke (why I got my cat back sooner)
