OBD1 w/OBD2 connector on 94 LeSabre

I have just had a 94 leSabre given to me. The service engine light was coming on after maybe 45 minutes of highspeed driving and I would lose cruise control at the same time. Because the engine was racing (I could stop it by placing the car in park after driving a short distance) I replaced the throttle positioning sensor. This solved the racing but now the service engine light is on steady (I have pulled the fuse on the positive battery lead to try to reset it) and I have totally lost the cruise. It has also started missing at idle speed.

I have said all this to ask this: The car is OBD1 with a 16 pin OBD2 type connector. What is the least expensive way to access the codes. I would be greatfull for help on any of these problems.

Take it to shop. The code reader for these cars is abut $300 I have a 94 Cavalier that is OBDII with the OBDI connector. Wish we could trade connectors.
