Wheels... Brand Name or Knockoff... what to go with?

Looking at new wheels to replace the ugly-as-hell stock 89 CRX wheels. Stock wheels are starting to get rust spots and are just plain ugly =P

I'm not hugely into modding my car, just looking for something decent looking. Local store has these in a 13" (same size as stock): http://www.discounttire.com/dtc/find...INT&vid=006805

Little over $250 to get those.

Then there is the real thing: http://www.enkei.com/LuxurySpecPAGES/LM35lSpecs.html

Looks to be about a $650 price tag on those and I'd need new tires. Don't really want to get new tires, already have fairly new ones.

Thoughts on going with an in-house brand wheel?

Unless you're going to bling factor, for the money most knock-offs are superior to thier overpriced counterparts.

As long as its lightweight. Paying 4 times as much for something thats 20% lighter than the cheaper alternative just isn't functional unless you're just trying to impress people that you have the real thing.

also, how hard will it be for me to get 13" wheels? So far I'm not having the best of luck looking for things in that size.

I just received new tires as a birthday present in May, so I'd really like to stick with same wheel size if possible so I can use the tires I have. Seems kind of redundent to buy new tires this soon.

thanks for that link to tirerack by the way, those wheels are in fact ugly as hell on a crx. (well not those exact wheels, but ones damn close).

That upgrade garage thing on it is pretty cool, being able to see the wheels on a 89 CRX DX

Re: Wheels... Brand Name or Knockoff... what to go with?

I honestly always go for knockoffs...cheaper to replace when they're bent or stolen.... rollin on some Flik Justice's right now... which are pretty much knockoff's of Sportec Mono 10s... and when I had my hondas..I always rolled on rota's

white rims are pretty....ooo...

*drools*

knockoffs are the way to go, you can't notice the difference half the time depending on which ones you go with

Love my rotas. Wouldn't buy the actual Spoon rims even if i haveth $ to blow. Can't see spending a ton of $ on something so damn close to the ground, and the fact that they can easily be stolen even if you have wheel locks.

Cheaper and lighter is better, I payed $550 Cdn. with almost new tires for mine.. HX wheels would have been super cool to get too, but they're not available in damn Canada.
