B18a with T-25 turbo
I have a 89 crx with a b18a in it, I want to go with a Turbo. I have a spare t-25 turbo from 97 DSM car. I want to know if this is a good turbo for the street? I also want to run it with air to water intercooler- I have a spare GMC water to air intercooler that I would like to use. Also where is the best place to buy the turbo manifold from? I want the turbo to come out to the pass side not the drivers side. Also where is a good place to buy a down pipe? I am trying to put a turbo on as cheep as I can--I can weld and do the piping work. I just cant spend $3,300 on a kit.
Thanks Mike |

I think if you get the T-25 you will have to build up your bottom end(pistons, etc). A good turbo to run with the B18B is the T3/T4. I would assume you can use the T-25 but keep it at low boost because you dont want to blow your motor. Just keep those few things in thought and you should have a good runnin motor.

T25 is very small, you wont be able to run much more than 14 psi from it. One god thing is you will have a small amount of lag and also the flange on the exhaust will accept a lot of different turbos incase you decide on upgrading to a better turbo

T25 is a good matchup for your motor without needing any bottom end work... but T3 would be more efficient. T3/T4 would be a total waste on your setup.
unless you have any fabrication skills, putting together a kit will cost you since no one makes a prefabricated downpipe for your T25 to mate up to a Honda. an intercooler piping kit would also have to be modified to mate up properly. if the turbo hasnt been rebuilt yet, i suggest doing so now. no true way to know if it leaks without bolting it up to a car and running it, but it would be shitty to bolt it up and burn oil... so just rebuild it now. if you're anywhere near Louisiana, you can drop the car and turbo off with us. we charge $3000 for a custom turbo application on a Honda. that includes parts, labor, tuning, and fabrication costs for a Stage1 Street setup. in your case since you have the turbo, i'd probably drop the price to $2500 installed or so... and i just either buy the parts you want, then fabricate the rest. once again, $2500 with your turbo. includes all other parts, labor, tuning, and fabrication. |

I can make a down pipe, the one thing that I will need is manifold for the turbo. Does someone make a cast manifold for the t-25? Also I want to keep AC.
