91 ols cutless supreme coolant issue

Hello folks,
Im new to this board and just need a shoulder to cry on.
picked up a 91 olds custless supreme at a police auction. ( I wont make THAT mistake again!) Got all the little things fixed and it starting to look nice so now its on to the big issue. after starting the car ( 3.1 FI engine) after about 4 to 5 minutes the coolant tank starts bubbling and in about 5 minutes , most of the coolant from the top of the engine has been blown up there. If I open up the little coolant vent on top of the thermostat, I can slow this down a bit.
Obviously, there is a major upper end leak, my bet is one of the cylinders at the head gasket or heaven forbid the a cracked head. Its rather difficult to get to the rear plugs so I am resigned to pulling it apart.
One plug on the front appeared to be a bit oily, but I would have expected a bit more residue for such a large leak. my bet is one the rear set of cylinders. whats yours?

Also, just for the record, this had the electronic dash and of course it was also dead. ( problably why the car ended up at the impound lot)
If you ever have the That issue, I can tell you to get out the soldering gun and carefully resolder EVERYTHING on the board, then reinstall it into the plastic holder without flexing it and it will resume its happy ways.

As for the car, the only thing wrong with it now is this coolant leak, everything else looks great so I think its still worth the effort. If the leak cant be economically fixed, the car will problably head for the scarpyard, where it obviously appeared to be heading before I found it!

Figured I would give the board an update on the coolant issue. found the root cause, a snapped head bolt on the front set of cylinders, between the rear between the #2 and #4 cylinders. all other parts appear to be intact, reassembly is now in progress!
