When AF fails...

Just reminding you all that when AF's splendor fails, you can all "hide" in here...

God knows I do it at times!

I told you that if nothing else, I'd stick with you in the Girlie Forum, and I'll stay true to my word. So, whether or not I venture back out into OT, which someone has renewed my faith in AF, I'll be here.

You girls know how to find me.

Yeah, what's going on out there. Everyone's so aggressive. And all this crap about an "Asshole Crew". AF OT used to be so good. What's happened to change it??

A lot has changed. Some of it is political. Some of it is private issues between individuals. The one thing I can say though is that this evening, through the presence of new faces, it seems to have re-invented itself to some extent, and that alone gives me hope.

I think some of the problem is that people let words on a screen get to them. I realize some people are more sensitive than others, but it's hard to read tone into certain messages to determine if someone is being mean or just sarcastic.

Another big problem I have seen lately is that people are "fighting" in the public forums rather than PMing or duking it out on AIM. It brings the morale down and takes the fun out of things. I too am hopeful that some new "faces" in the scenery will change things for the better. I got a PM from one of the regular guys mentioning that some old toppics were revived and that hopefully seeing topics like those (the good ones) will bring some of the quality back to what it used to be.

I think one thing we (meaning everyone not just us girls) as "regulars" can do is make sure we ourselves post good stuff to kinda set an example for the newer people. It can be hard in an OT type place because afterall it is OT...and almost anything goes. But like I said in my reply in Towlie's thread we all have opinions and not everyone is gonna agree. What is a good thread to me may not be to the next person. I guess in a way it can be a lesson in learning how to deal with different types of personalites. Can you imagine how different things would be if we all were in a big room together in person??

Ladies fear not, as I will be back on here soon enough and bring some order to this place. I just hope that you will all be here when I get back.

wow.

Im going to resign my modship to one of the girls in here. And I think every other male AF mod should do the same thing.

Weve got all sorts of threads and crap going on in the mod forum about the OT, and here in one thread in only a few replies you ladies have answered and the problems and defined them perfectly!
Then to top it all off you have come up with a solution.

While we've been discussing differnt measures of control the most simple one has eluded us.
Setting an example is by far the best way, I just realised why the AF OT used to be so good, its because the threads were really good, because they were started by cool people.

So ladies im inviting all of you to start threads in the OT, and make posts that lead by example. This is after all your AF as much as it is anybody elses, (allthough Igor legaly owns the name ) and you have a right to mould it your image. (especialy when its a positive image)

Now if none of you mind, i'll go make a link in the mod forum to this thread. Ill make it clear that its to be disccused in the mod forum so we dont interfer with your own place, but I think it would be good for the other mods to see a differnt take on the whole problem, and to see the negative effect excess whoring is having.

Thank you all very very much! :sun:

Oh goody, I got to read it twice! *lol*

j/k (Anyone else notice how once the guys came it the forum got all quiet again??? )

Anyway, just remember that this forum is completely invisible from male members (not mods, though). And anytime someone is giving you crap, please don't hesitiate to PM me or any other mod to notify us as to what is going on. Someone will be able to make a decision of what steps to take.

*lol* I am somewhat under the impression that only certain mods can get in here... Not positive, but that seems to be how I recall things. There never was any real groundwork set-down before we bugged enough mods to get this place for us

^ that is a good question, though!
