Cool motor shutdown on highway

I own a 98 Derange-o. This morning as i was on the highway just a few miles from home the motor shut down. I had the radio on and that stayed on. Pulled over to the side and she started right up. Had no problems getting home, she ran fine. No check engine light came on, and all the gauges were in the normal ranges. I also had the upper and lower ball joint problem at 72,000 miles. Bad tie rod ends about 8,000 miles ago.I have the 5.2 motor, cherry bomb glasspack and a K&N high flow air filter. Anyone got the answer to the motor shutting down like that?

Re: motor shutdown on highway

Crank sensor or IAC valve? check your ECM codes.

I cant really remember how much for the upper and lower ball joints as i had other work done at the same time. The whole bill came to 12 hundred bucks. I also had a new water pump, serpentine belt, oil and filter, flush radiator and re-fill with new coolant. That 12 hundred inbludes labor, and tax. Thats New York prices, you may be different.
