Help Plz!!!!

OKAY this is all new to me!!

I juss recently bought a 1999 cougar and the AC in it worked fine when I test drove it.......so then I bought it sometimes it woudl work and sometimes it wouldn't! Well I thought maybe if I changed the filter it would work better well I changed it now it compltley stopped working what can I do???? SOMEONE HELP THIS GURL OUT!!!!!!!

what filter are you talking about? if the ac slowly went out then you either have a leak or it wasnt fully charged to begin with. if you know anybody with manifold gauges have them hook them up and check the pressures which should ruftly be 40 to 50 low side and 120 to 140 high side if they are good then it might be the pressure switch or the evaporater is freezing up. hard to tell without seeing it. but try that.

those cars had bad controle panels. get one from junk yard. my nothers ac did same thing, i replaced the panel on the dash and it has worked every since.
