Speedometer/Trip Meter

Hi,

I have a '91 6cyl 3.0 voyager and having some troubles and hoping someone might be able to help me by answering a few questions, or giving some advice.

The speedometer and Trip meter are, in short, not working properly. The speedometer/trip meter only "kicks in" some of the time.

I've checked the error codes and am getting a "13" which is the MAP sensor vacuum lines but I'm wondering if that COULD cause this problem (or it's another problem all together, hopefully not) and how much this would roughly cost to replace and how much effort would it take? If it's fairly simple I can get my stepdad or brother to do it but before I get them to peak at it, I'd like to know if it's possible :s
