Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

i take it an intake would be the best first step? injen is $231 for a polished one w/ free shipping. anyone buy theirs cheaper?

k, i ordered the intake. now where is a good place to find the muffler at? since everyone says that the pipe going to the muffler is already good enough, i'll probably just get the muffler by itself. everyone says that magnaflow is one of the best, is there any others that are the same performance wise? any good websites to order them from.

wow, never realized magnaflow had so many different types. anyone know the exact one that would perform best?

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

Trust me the BEST place to get the muffler is RPMmotoring.com I personaly know the owner and hes a very cool guy. The mufflers are a VERY good price. The number is toll free and is posted on there site. RPMmotoring.com is very good, and they can give you advice on how to set up your car. You should get a entire exhaust system rather than the muffler by itself. That way you add more HP and you have better results. My favorite is the Apexi, and from what I know Apexi, HKS, and Greddy make the best. Go to RPMmotoring.com and they can give you a good price. Tell them Salem recommended you.

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

The stock exhaust system is very good for an NA application with the biggest restriction being the muffler. that is why you only gain 3-4whp from changing that out.

Alot of my customers are happy with the Magnaflow cat-back though, with both the sound, performance, and price. I am selling those for $364 shipped.

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

I do own my own performance shop. We are completing a turbo kit for the 3G RS/GS this week and will have numbers by Monday/Tuesday of next week.

We also are deliver all parts to the DC/Baltimore region and do install calls to our customers. Make it easier for them for us to come to their work and install parts while they are at work. And from what I saw on RPMmotoring, they do not carry Magnaflow systems.

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

No they dont carry Magnaflow, and I dont kow if they will. I do know the company isnt finished yet, and they are planning to have WAY more parts and companys. The good thing about RPMmotoring.com is that they dont carry crappy brands. Johnney I cant blame you for trying to sell, but I'm just trying to help my friend out.

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

You dont HAVE to get the Magnaflow. You can get an Apexi HKS or Greddy and make just as much or the same power gains.

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

wow....ive never seen anybody try to sell parts for another company that he has nothing to do with. we all are here to help people out. you make it sound like johnny is just tryin to sell his products and that he is not tryin to help out. hes just doing the same thing youre tryin to do. i actually got my exhaust from NOPI for a great price and they had very good customer service.

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

just installed the injen cai, i can't notice that much of a difference in sound or performance but that's probably just cause the car is still completely new to me and i haven't had any time to get used to. but then again johnny said it adds 7-11whp so it has to make a decent difference. other than where i'll get the exhaust, is it really worth it to get the cat-back compared to just the muffler?

Re: What first? intake or exhaust?

one thing you will need to do is to reset the ECU. disconnect the battery for about 10 mins. then reconnect it, start the car and let it idle for a few mins. the ECU has to compensate for the extra air coming in. as for the exhaust, i believe that it is worth it to get the cat-back. but thats just my opinion. its really comes down to what you want. if you dont want to spend the extra money on a cat-back, then its probably best for you to get just the muffler.
