H22 Here I come!

Alright so my best buddy had a party last night, and I met this guy who has been at a few parties i've been to and i've talked to him before. He told me he just got a 98 civic hatch (si? or something)... anyways and he wanted a ls-vtec. I told him I wanna go H22a and I have a B16a in my car right now (89 crx si) with type r cams. This guy doesnt like turbo kits or anything, he thinks its cheap, hes an all motor boy. Soooo we're talking and im talkin about selling my B16, and hes sorta interested, we're both deff NOT sober but anyways.. the next morning, he leaves the house at like 11am or so, and we're both straight (sober), and he wants to buy my motor he said, within the next week or two, and he said $1500 ! My trade in value to get an H22a is $1300, and the cost of h22a is $2k. Sooo im goin H22a, gonna just build the motor while its out of the car, then around september put it in, and have it turbo'd by christmas. I dont care what everyone thinks, because I use 2point2 as my reference so dont flame if ya havent experienced it ya kno. well thats just about it, wish me luck!

Re: H22 Here I come!

Getting the h22a and turbo to both fit in there should be your only issue. Just make sure you look around for a good manifold that will fit well and you'll be gold. But when you're done you'll be killing cars left and right. Good luck man.

Re: H22 Here I come!

Hmmm right now im just trying to see about the upgrade parts and everything. First thing is first, sleeve the motor, so I can use some forged pistons. Hmmm any advice here? I dont really know much about hte brands and types of upgrade parts out there.

Re: H22 Here I come!

Damn, nice. Thats what I am aiming for, deffinitally want to do it. Theres a yellow CRX around here, thats soppositly "Fast as shiittt!" but everyone around here doesnt know much about engines or anything, and its for sale too so im curious what hes got. Does anyone kno when Hasport is going to release the H22a mounts? I heard there might be K20 mounts comming out as well, sweet as hell.

Re: H22 Here I come!

Hey, dont flame his stupid idea....it could happen. Generally, people you meet at parties, especilally the drunk ones, are full of shit. Id personally watch your car, that guy could just drag it away with a cable, gut your engine, then you would be out your H22 for sure. Unless you got a job.....

what mounts

what are you going to use for mounts man? my buddys claiming he's going to do an h22 swap into his 5th gen civic this winter, but they sell mounts for him. if i was to go that direction i dont know what i'd use. do you have any links to pages with crxs with them in them?
you'll have to get bigger brakes or upgrade them at least for your car and stiffen, if not raise the front suspension a little higher than the rear to compensate for the weight.

Re: H22 Here I come!

Dont forget about the suspension. Upgrade them and i'd suggest you get an upgraded axles from www.raxles.com
