idle problems

does anyone know why my car wouldnt be idling when it gets hot. Every time I stop it dies, unless i keep giving it gas. It only happens when the car is hot though. And it seems to be searching for a idle all the time. Its like theres a bad sensor on a high temp idle or something. does anyone have any web sites that i could look at, that shows you how to fix these problems. ive heard it preaty comon
