Polyutherane Bushings

Has anyone ever tried replacing their rubber bushings???? I was reading an article and they did it on a Z32, and they say the out come was incredible, I wanted to hear from someone who has personally done it and how much handling was improved. They used a polyutherane bushing kit from energy susp. They said that with only the bushings, you would think the car had coilovers, and they said if they added coilovers, the handling would be greatly improved. I am guessing the kits must be around $400.00 or more.

i put in tanabe coilovers, the energy bushing kit and rear subframe spacers all at the same time and its a lot better now, but i dont know how much the bushings had to do with it, but the old ones were all fucked up so its probably good i replaced them. and its not really too hard, just need the tools and equipment

The thing next on my tool list is a welding torch and a hydraulic press, I know you need it to replace them.
How much did you buy the bushings?
Did you buy the OEM or polyutherane?

rubber is used for comfort... thats why cars like F50 have none ..... the utherane bushes "tighten" evrything up... =better handling coz the bushings dont flex anywhere near as much

sorry u probably knew that but yeah it is supposed to be a really good value handling upgrade.... the thing is they say if u want to drive ur car on the street that there are only certain ones to replace or the car will become VERY VERY uncomfortable on the street.

they firm up the car a lot, not nessecarly the ride just the feeling when tossing it around and such

I really don't care much about comfort, I did have bad experiences with bad handling and insufficient aerodynamics around 4yrs ago. I was running my SHO to see where the computer cuts off, as I approached 135mph, fuel was cut, I then sped up again, as I approached 135, wind got under my car, I was lifted two lanes accross, when my car touched down, I could barely breath.
Then one time I was on a twisty country road, and here came some guys with a Supra the 89-94, they passed me, I gave chase, they took a tigh curve at around 60mph, I tried the same and almost went into a tree. By this time I knew nothing about cars except putting wheels, paint, and kits, I hadn't really gone into the heavy tunning at that time.
Now I am all about performance, I bought the Trans-am, it was too costly and heavy, and it was supposed to attract the girls, the only thing it attracted was the cops. After so many tickets, fines, and DL suspension, I opted this time I will go legit and do it the right way.
If the Utherane bushings improve handling and take away comfort, I really don't care, just as long as I can grip the road.

yeah i got the polyurethane bushings. the overall ride is a bit rough but not nearly as bad as some lowered/stiffened cars ive ridden in. they were only like 90 bucks too and seriously the ones on there were so shot it was unbelievable they were just falling apart (car is at 154k miles). I have also heard that graphite bushings are pretty sweet because they dont make any noise like polyurethane can (kinda squeaky) but i havent seen those really and mine dont make noise so i would just go with the relatively cheap set from energy. Along these lines I would also recomment the rear subframe spacers I got from specialyz.com they are like 60 bucks and a super super easy install. With this stiffened setup and coilovers i wold think strut tower bars should also be installed (front at least). With all this done handling should be nice and tight.

Also, does anyone know where you can get a panhard rod for a 240 i totally cant find them, and they are everywhere for mustangs and shit and seem like a pretty desirable addition to the suspension.


By the way i went to formula D at sears point today and it was so cool! anyone else there? and HOLY SHIT RHYS MILLEN IS FUCKIN AMAZING seriously. the 17 year old kid was tight too but god damn ive never seen anyone slide like that damn GTO did. there were about 15 240's i saw there in the parking lot and none of them were ugly rice...HOORAY!

Hardcore.......... I don't know, but all I want is to boost my handling ten fold if I can, or afford. Don't forget the extra weight of my block and other shit, so I really need to grip the road.
It would be corny to have all this power and you can't take a tight curve.
