8 connections on sub? 4 layer voice coil 6 ohm
i have a pair of audiobahn alum12q's, they have a 4 layer voice coil and have 4 connections on each side of the sub. i was wondering if u need to connect all of these, if not, what is the best way to wire these subs to the amp? here is a pic of the sub im talking about, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...708635054&rd=1 , there is also a pic at http://www.audiobahn.com/frame2004.html if the first one doesnt work

Re: 8 connections on sub? 4 layer voice coil 6 ohm
no u don't need to connect both of theese....there are 2 positives and 2 negatives on each side but they go to the same place to make it easier when wiring so u don't have to jam 2 wires in one hole.....think of it as y spliiters on each coil....the best way to hook it up would depend on the number of subs and what amp you are using.

ok nevermind, ill just give u a scenario. if I were u, i would have gotten probably a jbl 1200.1. then what i would do is run it parallel/parallel to give you 1.5 ohms. ull get 700 watts if ur lucky, maybe less but u gotta remember that they r audiobahns, so 3/4 would be more accurate. i still need to know ur amp and specs because we might need to try something different. also try doing a search on here bcause i remember seeing something like this i think yesterday(?)
