Disabling Alarm Cut-out on a 4runner
We are on vacation and my brother-in-laws alarm in his 4runner will not disable. I think it is an aftermarket unit, the only markings on it are "FCC ID: J5523518T!" not sure on the "!" and "Made In The USA" the front has 2 buttons one larger and round the other smaller and oval and an LED.
I can cut the wire to the alarm horn to shut the thing up, but, I need to get by the starter cut-out to start the vehicle. Can anyone tell me how to determine which wires I need to cut or short to get the vehicle started so that he can start the vehicle and get home? The truck is a 1998, 4cyl/2wd if that is relevant. Re: Disabling Alarm Cut-out on a 4runner
He had told me the remote battery was new, I opened the remote to see if I could find any identification for the alarm, noticed that the paint was rubbed off the battery. Replaced the battery and it worked fine, argghhh.
Thanks, SN95GT50 |
